First Timers - average time is takes to get preg???
Does anyone know the average number of months it takes for a first timer to get preg?
It's obviously different for everyone, but I'm curious if there is an average.

I'm not sure about the average, we started in March and just got our BFP. Technically on paper we only "tried" for 4 months....it is so different with everyone

I think that while more than 80% get pg in a year, it's like 50/50 in only 3 months

My Dr told me that it can take the "Average healthy couple" anywhere from 9-12 months to get PG.
We're moving into our 9th month.

we just finished our 4th month.. I'm in the "2ww"... My dr said "normal, and I use that term loosely, is 6-12 months"

I don't think there really is an average. Age can play a role (but doens't always) as well as other issues like PCOS.
Basically, 85% of couples will get pregnant within their first year of trying.

With DS it took 3 months
We are currently in our 5th cycle
I did a poll on pregnancy not too long ago to see how long it took everyone if you want to compare!

I think on average it takes couples 3+ months.

Does it matter if you've been on birth control for a long time? I've been on for years, and just went off at the end of september. I have had my second normal period Dec 5. I used ovulation sticks and they never said I was ovulating, though we did the BD anyways during the time I thought i was ovulating. I'm patiently waitint....

I was on BC for about 13 years
came off in April, got AF in May and June and then got pregnant

I did a poll on this site of the PG women when I was TTC. Something like 70% of women were PG within 3 months of trying. The ladies on here are apparently very fertile.

My dr told me that the BCP that I was on, it can take up to 6 months on average after stopping to O. So I guess for the first 6 months I am not going to stress. (Well is sounds good)
