Re: First trimester ladies what are you eating?
Even though I feel sick most of the day, I find eating every couple of hours makes the nausea not that bad. I usually have an english muffin for breakfast, crackers help in the morning. Lunch might be a bagel, soup, pizza. I find eating nuts is okay. Sucking on lemon drops helsp throughout the day. Basically bread products help. Try not drinking while you eat. I need to wait about an hour after I eat before I drink anything. That helps reduce the nausea as well. My doctor recommended ensure shakes but I found them so horrible I am now forcing myself to eat.

You know, I didn't think about the drinking while I eat thing. That seems to make the queasiness worse.
My diet now is basically bread, bagels, spaghetti (the only thing I can eat for dinner), and rice. If I eat bagels I HAVE to eat it with Temptee cream cheese, and only Temptee. If I eat bread, it has to be strawberry preserves and p'nut buter. If I try something else, it make me gag.
I feel so weird eating like this now!!

Re: First trimester ladies what are you eating?
While i have been blessed with no MS it seems that i have nauseau all day long... Carbs seem to help and spaghetti is a big one for me too, it seems to be the only thing i can tolerate for dinner.
Any time i just cant stand the site of anything i go for a bagel..

Re: First trimester ladies what are you eating?
I've been eating about 5 small meals a day. Granola bar for breakfast, then usually some sort of fruit as a snack, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch w/ something salty (Cheez-Its have done well for me), a small portion of whatever I make for dinner and if I can force it, a snack at night (it helps with the morning nausea).
I keep counting down the days until 12 weeks since that's when they say it should all magically disappear. Lord help anyone around me if it's not true

I am 11 weeks today and told DH that if this is not gone in the next week or two I will hurt someone!

I know! I'm praying for that alleged sweet relief!
I've been doing about 5 small meals, which seems to alleviate some of the nausea (unless I eat too much, then its another story!). I usually eat an eggo waffle as soon as I get up, then for breakfast #2, I'll either have fruit and an egg or a bagel. For lunch I have either grilled cheese or a veggie burger and then something random for a snack. For dinner, I eat tofu and broccoli or whatever DH cooks!

ok... don't hurt me... but i wouldn't exactly say it always *magically* disappears for everyone... for me it was a gradual improvement over 3-5 weeks, so that i felt completely better by about 17 weeks... just preparing you for the possibility that it doesn't go away overnight for everyone.

Re: First trimester ladies what are you eating?
I agree with eating the smaller, more frequent meals....I had been trying to eat 3 main meals but this week I have switched to eating six small meals and I feel so much better. I have a few crackers when I first wake up, but before I actually get out of bed, then I drink a Carnation Instant Breakfast shake in the morning with soymilk. Two hours later I have two pieces of whole wheat toast with some peanut butter....a "regular" type of lunch. Then around 3pm I have either a granola bar, some fruit, or some cheese slices. Around 6:30 I eat whatever looks good at dinner....sometimes it's cheese and crackers, sometimes I'm lucky and the entire meal looks good. Tonight, I made turkey meatloaf and it was excellent! Then just before bed I have another snack of either fruit or cheese. I wish it were more ideal, but I think it's doing pretty well and I'm so happy that I'm not throwing up anymore....(I think DH is happy, too!)
