First visit with the RE on Friday *UPDATE ON BOTTOM*
Im a little nervous, I am not sure what to expect. So....for those of you who know...what can I expect?!
And also...how long was your first visit. I plan on coming into work after...but I heard that sometimes these appointments can take long?
TIA

Re: First visit with the RE on Friday
I was nervous too, but I left with so much knowledge! I fell 100% better about the whole TTC process the second I stepped foot out the door!
My first visit lasted about 45-60min. The doctor sat down with DH and I and went over our medical histories and asked A LOT of questions, so she could fully understand what our situation was. After speaking with the doctor, I had an internal sono done and they took some blood.
HTH! Good Luck!!

Re: First visit with the RE on Friday

Re: First visit with the RE on Friday
Whem my doc gave me the sono, she basically talked through it with me so I could understand everything. They will only call you with the blood results if something is abnormal.
Dont be nervous!! Believe me, you will feel MUCH better! What doc are you seeing??

Re: First visit with the RE on Friday
I asked about the Dr. on the infertilitly board, but no one answered. I was supposed to see Dr. Kang...but she doesnt accept my insurance. So I am going to Dr. Goldschlag? He is in the same office.

Re: First visit with the RE on Friday
My first appointment we went into the doctor’s office and talked for about 20 mins, like the PP said, went over medical history and issues. I showed him my BBT charts. DH wasn’t with me but he recommended an HSG (which I havent done yet – he said no rush on that yet) and an SA for DH (which we have done). Then I had bloodwork taken, about 4 vials. Then he did an internal sono. I saw the results on the screen as he was doing it. The whole appointment took about 30-40 mins not including waiting time.
Don’t be nervous! I find at least my RE to be way better and more sensitive with better bedside manner and patient care than any other doctor I have ever seen.

Re: First visit with the RE on Friday
Lets see, my RE appt lasted about 45 minutes (not including wait time) and included talking in his office and blood work (4 vials)
DH came with me and I'm really glad he did because he understood everything the dr was saying... so when I forgot everything I heard after we left the office, DH went over everything that was talked about
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

I can totally understand, It was the first time I have ever seen a male for that area. I was more uncomfortable about how that made me feel than him actually being there. It kind of was a blurr to me. I had brought DH with me and we were there for about 1hr and a bit more. We sat and went over our histories and discussed what steps tests we had already done. He did a sono to see if there was any thing there. Dh did not come in with me and then we went back to the office to discuss the plan.
Good luck dont be nervous its not as bad as you think

Re: First visit with the RE on Friday
I too had my first RE appt. recently and unlike the other ladies, my appt. lasted about two hours. When I first got there I had to fill out a 10 or so page questionnaire and then saw the RE. He sat down with me and DH to discuss our med history as well as what was wrong (I have had AF changes as of late). We then went in to do a sono and examination and then back to his office to discuss my plan of action.
As everyone else has said, do not be nervous at all because you will feel 100% better after your visit. I was just so confused and disheartened by the whole TCC process that I really started believing that I will never be pregnant.. but after my appointment I felt so much better. Although I do have a problem, at least I now know what it is and am on the road to fixing it. I have a clear picture of what is going on. I am sure you will feel the same way! Lots of luck to you!

May I ask, When the cysts burst, does it feel similar to "o" pain?
Going to do my bloodwork as soon as TBAF arrives, (CD31 and still waiting ) but my OB also suspects PCOS for me as well. Just curious, because I seem to have "o" pain right now, and that can't be right
