Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Barnyard eggs are also good for....
Darning socks! DH asked me to fix a hole in his sock and it worked great!
I know this post should actually be about, "really, DH asked you to darn a sock?!" or "really, you did it for him?!"
But just in case anyone else's DH thinks you're June Cleaver, Lucy Ricardo or Alice Cramden... need to darn a sock... stick a Fisher Price plastic egg in there and it gives you something to work the needle against!

LOL... it sat there for a week. I was not really taking him seriously then this afternoon, I saw the egg and thought, hey, that would make an easy go at it! And it did!

Funnily enough I just asked DH the other night if anyone still darns socks and if they do can you still buy sock darners.
His reply: what are you talking about?

Sewing/patching a hole. A little more common back when socks were not so disposable!
