Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler rocker...

I did not register for it and now I regret it. It seems like everyone that has one LOVES it....

I'm debating..should I get one? I have a bouncy chair already..should I wait and see how Chat Icon likes that first? Or should I just go for it and order it with one of my BRU gift cards? Chat Icon

Sorry to add to your regret but I LOVED mine.

DS slept in it for a few weeks during the day before he went into the crib for night. We put it away from 8-14 mos b/c he'd climb in it and fall over. Now that he's walking and climbing he likes to sit in it for stories or just to sit. Its on carpet so it doesn't rock well yet.

I slept in the livingroom w/ ds a lot in the begining b/c of the crazy hours - I could rock it with my foot but mostly the vibrating worked well for him.

I would see if DC likes what you have or if anyone can lend you there to see.
I also liked it b/c it folded up when we went out to friends when he was still able to sleep in it - much smaller then pack-and-play.

ours is currently in the basement (you know our living room) - so with the space - we have the papasan swing, the bouncer, the fisher price calming motions thingy and the kickin' coaster (also pack n play - but that's out of the way).

there was no room for it - maybe we'll take it out soon...

Re: Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler rocker...

I have a bouncy and the FP Rocker. My MIL keeps the FP Rocker at her house. I prefered the boucy seat over the rocker when he was a newborn and young infant. . I just stopped using it when DS turned 4 months. Now he fits much better in the Rocker. (just about 5 months old).
I think it is good, but nothing special.
I would stick with the bouncy seat and see how he does with it. You can always get the Rocker when he gets older.

Re: Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler rocker...

DD loves hers but doesn't like the papasan vibrating chair. Every baby is different, however, most mommies rave about the rocker.

Re: Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler rocker...

My DS was a big baby and outgrew the bouncer around 5 or 6 months. I got the NB to toddler rocker once we couldn't use the bouncer since I still needed something to strap him into on occasion.

We used it until he was about 9 or 10 months, then put it away. I think we pulled it out again at abour 15 months and now he loves using it as a chair.

I like it because I found it to be much more portable than the bouncer and I could use it to feed him in if we were out at someone's house if I needed to.

Re: Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler rocker...

DS is only 4 weeks but hates it so far--I tihnk the angle is hard for him. He mostly sleeps and naps in the Fisher Price soothing motions glider or the papasan swing.

Re: Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler rocker...

My DD didn't care for it in the least! It collected dust and is now in the attic. I say, get a bouncy and wait and see if you need it. You can get it later with a coupon...it isn't very expensive.

Every child is different, but I would skip it. Theoretically, it works for toddlers too, but DS only used it till about 7 months. Then he started diving off it, and doesn't like it at all now.

I'd just use the bouncy.

We have the rocker and the bouncer and used them both. The rocker was especially useful when traveling. It folds really easily!

Re: Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler rocker...

I have both... the bouncy was GREAT when he was a newborn because you could easily bounce him to sleep with your foot... however he was 20 pounds at 3 months and the seat at that point was more like a bed from his weight... so i went out and bought the rocker which he uses everyday when he gets his bottles.... it doesnt rock as easily so it is not as good for naps

Re: Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler rocker...

DS used it for a total of 2 weeks. He hated it. I never found an age he liked it.

Too high when he was a baby, too reclined when he was older.

It was a total waste for us.
