five weeks in our new home and....
my dryer died!
we went to home depot to see what's out there.
has anyone purchased a washer/dryer set recently?
what are your recommendations??
seems like i'll never go on vacation again

PC Richards..see my friend Joe Morales in Carle Place..he's the manager and tell him your friend Susan sent you..(the one who bought the two giant Sony Bravias..his wife's friend. Anyway, he'll cut you a deal.
Call first and see if he's there.
eta: we replaced our washer in the first month..it happens..

SAME thing happened to us... except it was the washer that went... i dont think it even lasted one wash! It was leaving black specs all over the clothese 
we got the more affordable price at PC Richards...

We bought the Kenmore Front Loader by Whirlpool at Sears. Good price and quick delivery.

In our first house a new washer was one of our first purchases. So far all applicances we have bought have been from pc richards and they have been great.

A lot of good sets on craigslist. I saw a $2500 set listed for $1000 recently...really nice, new frontloading washer/dryer.

Seriously - It happened to me and I was VERY happy.. I really didnt like the idea of using the previous homeowners and so I was happy.. BUT its just the beginning.. GOOD LUCK...
Oh and I went to Plessers in Babylon to get mine - I did my research new what I wanted, went there and bargined with them... I recommend going there - They have always been good to us...

I have come to the conclusion that people buy a home - put in all new appliances and then sell the house when the appliances are ready to go.

i think it's part of the "seller's manual"
oh well, at least i'm going to have my very first brand new washer and dryer!

Since we moved OOS we needed someone that would ship nationwide, so we bought at sears...they had a great promo that do every so often...it was buy 2 appliance get 15% off, buy 3 get 20%..we got our washer, dryer and frig

We went to Jays in levittown on hempstead tpke and they were having an insane sale
We got two whirlpool duets. The front load washer and front load dryer for $1700 and then $750 in rebates.
I only received a few of the rebates so far. They take a long time to come.
