I know it will take a few nights....she cried for an hour tonight on and off and she fell asleep.
Whew.
Im sad though - even though sometimes it takes forever - and I know in a lot of ways it is better for her to be able to soothe herself...and lord knows we both need the sleep...
I am going to miss rocking her to bed and night - and sleeping next to her...
ok now I am crying like a baby.

Its funny you say this...Last night Ryan got up @ 11 and just wanted to be with me and DH.... I really think he missed us.... (or at least thats what I wanna think)
Last week we were off...and spent so much time together...and well this week has been crazy with me going back to work... I think he just wanted to SEE us...
Anyway...we were watching tv in bed together...and he fell asleep... I SOOO badly just wanted to leave him there, and sleep next to him... but he does so well in his crib...I didnt wanna risk changing it...
It so funny how we need these things more than them sometimes....
The love is just sooo powerful!

You have to do what is going to work best for you and your family. No one here should judge your for that.
We're sort of doing that with Miranda but she really doesn't cry. She did today at her afternoon naptime and I caved and bounced her to sleep and slept with her a while. Oh well I can't change overnight.

Whether exact method or not.. I applaud you... We did it with alex.. And I had NO idea what a Ferber method was..lol.. all I knew was he needed to Cry It Out... It took a couple of nights and it was the BEST thing I decided to do!!! GOod Luck!!!

We started this 2 nights ago. The first night I put her in her crib and after 5 minutes of screaming I jumped inthe shower. I couldn't take it. DH went in after 15 minutes and put her back down and rubbed her back and she was out. Same thing last night. I know we should let her cry alone until she falls alseep but its a start.
Our big problem is night waking. Last night after an hour of trying to get her back to sleep I decided to let her cry. I went in my bedroom and after 3 minutes of screaming..silence..This is what I looked like  . 2 minutes later this is what I looked like . She started screaming again. At the 10 minute mark DH turns to me and says I know your trying to follow the book (Dr. weisbluth) but don't you think you're going overboard. Guess who got up then for the first time in the middle of the night. DH went in a rubbed her back and she was out after a 1/2 hour. She then slept until 7:30. He says how come she'llfall asleep for me? Again . Maybe because I have been picking her up for 9 months and rocking her to sleep and now thats what she expects. I'm gonna make him get her to sleep again tonight. Its so stressful!
Good luck MrsR. Its great you are starting young with Talia. I wish I had.

Just a suggestion, don't start it at night.... I did with Mallory and she just screamed, start during nap times, my Ped. said she' not overtired at that point and it's easier to start then rather than at night when they are overtired and it's dark.
