And start watching Modern Family!
It's those random large group things... sometimes it's a choreographed dance, sometimes everyone freezes in place (like they did in Grand Central), they had one where everyone just randomly took off their pants on the subway and sat around in their underwear, etc.
Definitely google them! They are pretty hilarious though I've never been lucky enough to witness one in person.

Basically it takes place in a public place and out of no where one person starts to perform then another and before you know 100's are doing it...its pretty cool.

I had a link to this from a friend on their fb account. It is a zumba thing. It is Coleman Square (between 159th Road & 159th Ave)
and it is like a community block party. This is what the schedule said:
Schedule
11:00 a.m. – ZUMBA flash mob
11:30 a.m. – Water Balloon Toss (Adults)
...11:45 a.m. – Water Balloon Toss (Children)
12 noon – Music Hour:
12:00 noon - Limbo (Children) / 12:15 pm - Limbo (Adult)
12:30 pm – Zumba demo
1:00 p.m. – Musical Hula Hoops (Children)
1:30 p.m. – Hip-Hop performance
2:00 p.m. – Patriotic Hour: National 9/11 Flag Stitching Ceremony
3:00 p.m. – Art Hour: Face Painting, Spin Art, & Sidewalk chalk drawing contest
3:30 p.m. - Simon Says (Children) / 3:45 p.m. – Simon Says (Adults)
4:00 p.m. – Sports Hour: Soccer Goal Contest, Egg & Spoon Race,
Jump Rope Contest, Relay Races, Hula Hoop Contest, Frisbee Contest
(All of the above in 15 min. intervals until all games are played. Adult games scheduled
& based upon participation.)
5:00 p.m. – Scavenger Hunt Starts
(Adult & children will have different rules but played simultaneously)
6:00 p.m. – Karaoke
Present will be:
WHBV Fire House Drill & Fire Truck, 106 pct. Crime Prevention Table with VIN etching & Fingerprint Child ID kits, Explorers from the 106 pct., and Voter Registration Table
Prizes, Giveaways & D.J. throughout the day.
Everyone is welcomed to come and join the fun!
