Anyone have a flat screen TV mounted on the wall? Who did you use for installation?? And were you happy with them?

Re: flat screen TV installation
We have a flatscreen that is mounted on our living room wall. DH brother is the one who mounted it for us and he did a perfect job.

I believe you can do this yourself, no need to pay for someone to do it.

Re: flat screen TV installation
the problem we have is connecting the cable which I think has to go thru the wall. Don't know that I trust DH to do it and would feel much better having someone do it who knows what they are doing!! LOL. Poor DH.
Anyone else???

I agree - we did it ourselves at our last house. the tricky part was getting the cable and the electrical up thru the wall. We had my FIL do it. If you find someone to do this part of it for you, the rest is easy.

Re: flat screen TV installation
Those of you who did it yourself... Are your DH's very handy?
We already have the electrical and cable run up inside the wall... but he just has to mount the tv.
I am a little nervous that he won't do it right and the tv will come crashing down!
Is it really that easy???

Re: flat screen TV installation
If your DH can find a stud using stud finder, work a power drill and attach a screw to the wall, and use a leveler to ensure the mount is level he should be good to go. The only help he may need is lifting the TV.
The mounts can be purchased at BestBuy. They're made by a company called Sanus. Use the custom search to find the appropriate mount for your TV.

Not sure if he can operate a stud finder, but I am sure I can figure one out!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!

Re: flat screen TV installation
I originally bought mounts at Best Buy. We then found the mount much cheaper and of the same quality at Monoprice.com. Know which mount you want before you start looking (flush, tilting, fully articulating etc).
You can also get all of your in the wall rated wiring and cover plates with cups for your wire pulls there.
Best buy is very very expensive for these items and the mounts. ($130 vs $24.99 for the mount)
