Flax Meal anyone?
I just bought flax meal at trader joe's to try to get in omega 3's (since I have a fish allergy I can't eat seafood or have fish oil supplements, and I even have a ild allergy to nuts which prevents them from being a regular source.)
I SO want to adjust to the taste of this, but right now it just seems awful to me. I feel like it has an initial nutty taste followed by a grassy aftertaste . . .
Has anyone successfully incorporated this into their diets?

Re: Flax Meal anyone?
Do you mind sharing what brand you use? Maybe it is the one I am using that just tastes less desirable.

I used Bob's Red Mill- it tastes awful . . . I am going to try a different brand I think.

Re: Flax Meal anyone?
How are you eating it? The only way I can take it is if I just put it in OJ or fruit smoothies. I've tried putting it in yogurt and cereal, but it changes the consistancy way too much. In the OJ it's just like pulp. I've never baked with it like the pp, but that's another option I've seen.

I use the Hogsdon Mill also. I usually put them in my protein shakes (in the blender). Are you eating it loosely??

DH puts it in hs protein shakes too and loves it. I personally hate the consistency so I never choose to have it BUT DH does sneak it in some of my food (e.g., eggs) and I don't usually notice.
