Re: Flaxseed oil and Evening Primrose Oil
Evening primrose oil helps with CM, you take 3 tablets, (one tablet 3x a day) from AF -O. The flaxseed oil, is full of omega 3 oil...so many people take that from ovulation -AF or throughout pregnancy.
The reason you stop the evening primrose at Ovulation is the possible risk of uterine contractions because of the prostaglandins that are found in it.

Re: Flaxseed oil and Evening Primrose Oil
I thought I had heard that flax seed was not good to use during pregnancy, that people should switch to omega 3 pills. Also, what is evening primrose oil used for?

It is controversial because it can alter the estrogens in your body. That's why a lot of people stop fatty acids during their 2ww...and pregnancy. It does however, help cell growth. It can depend on what your situation is though. Fish Oil is said to be good for certain immune issues.

Evening primrose oil can effect the estrogen levels in your body. An increase in estrogen helps cervical mucus become egg white. Therefore, by taking EPO...you can possibly achieve EWCM...if you don't on your own. It also helps cell growth etc.
However, herbs are natural medicine and therefore, it's best to check with a physician or a herbologist....whether or not it's 'okay' to take, since each individual is different.
