FLEAS - house cleaning question
When your pets have fleas, what do you do to keep your house free of fleas?
I vacuum everyday, spray his beds with flea killing spray, and wash his beds often.
Ray doesn't want to use the flea powders or sprays on our rugs because they are pretty new.
Any other ideas?

Re: FLEAS - house cleaning question
I think if you put mothballs in the vacuum that helps.
other than getting an exterminator and bombing the house!
IS Gizmo not on flea medicine?

Re: FLEAS - house cleaning question
No flea medicine for Gizmo. He never take flea medicine! And actually, this is the first time he had fleas in 7 years!
He had a flea bath this morning and has a flea collar now, and his hair is cut really short. I think we have Gizmo pretty much under contraol (I hope I don't jinx myslef now!)
I am not worried about him so much as I am that flea eggs will be hatching all over my house.

I'm not sure, but I think when my mother got fleas in the house she had to bomb the whole house

How do you know when it goes that far that you need to bomb the house?

Re: FLEAS - house cleaning question
our vet just told us that Bella had a few fleas on her (thanks to my parents dog) so that night I gave her a flea bath, and my husband vaccummed the house, then the next day I put the frontline flea med. on the back of her neck, and haven't seen a flea since. (although I didn't see them before, I just took the vet's word)

Re: FLEAS - house cleaning question
I would use the frontline flea prevention rather than the collar...it's last for a month, so if there are any fleas in your house it'll get them within the month.

Re: FLEAS - house cleaning question
Def. start with using frontline on Gizmo.... the easiest way to get rid of them honestly is to bomb the house.... they leave eggs that constantly hatch.

Re: FLEAS - house cleaning question
hi, I just spent 300.00 dollars at vet because of Fleas the season is really bad my Dog was clean 2 weeks ago but her drops must of just stoped working and she got infected.
mothballs in the vaccume is best to kill the fleas it smells but works other wise if you vaccume the fleas they come out of your vaccume. If your pet still has the fleas the vet game me a pill that kills them in 30 minutes. plus the Drops.
Good luck hope you get those critters out.
