We have only been to Clearwater Beach and it was great. Look into the Sandpearl, it's very nice and on the beach.

We stay on the ocean in the lauderdale by the sea once or twice a year. We love it there.

Anna Maria Island. I am a fan of the actual town on Anna Maria on the island. Cute beachy, nice restaurants.

We are staying free using Starwood points - Sheraton Sand Key and Westin Tampa Bay.

My pick would have been Sandpearl but I wanted to go to Europe this summer. DH agreed to Florida after I said our lodging would be free.

I agree with Clearwater...my parents have a condo there and it is beautiful! I'm also a fan of Singer Island/West Palm Beach area...we've stayed at the Marriott Ocean Pointe a few times and love it. I prefer the Gulf beaches, but really like the Palm Beach area also.

I haven't stayed there but last summer went to their restaurant on the beach. My mom and I both ordered a chicken dish and it came out raw TWO TIMES each for both of us!! Chef could not get it right. So gross. Chat Icon Will never go there again.

As we were leaving & walking through the pool area they had a giant screen set up so everyone could watch a movie in/around the pool, looked like fun.

Oh i looked into the Sheraton too. It looks great and was definitely in the running but I couldn't resist the Sandpearl. It's pricey I know and if we had another trip booked like you, we would have done the Sheraton for sure.

Note to self- avoid the restaurant there! LOL
We were planning to eat off site a lot anyway since the restaurants there seem pricey.

Go to the bar there and have a drink while watching the sunset. Perfect spot.

I was planning to do brunch at Sandpearl.

Is the brunch ok?

I think you and I have similar tastes in hotels.

I ALWAYS want to stay at the nice hotel. DH, on the other hand, could care less.

If you do Palm beach, The Breakers is fabulous. We've stayed a couple times and got reasonable rates in sept & October.

Yes. I am a huge hotel snob. It's bad.
Luckily , DH is pretty much the same. He was the one pushing the Sandpearl this time!

Everything about it is awesome. The grounds and pools/beach area is impeccable. Rent a pool cabana for the day if available, it's so worth it.

It's funny you post about this hotel. I wanted to go to Palm Beach and stay at the Breakers. DH shot it down at $1000 per night. I was pitching Europe and Palm Beach at the same time and I got Europe.

Then I wanted to go away for spring break and DH did not want to go back to Disney. Clearwater for free was our compromise.

I am going to try to go to the Breakers next year for my birthday. He should say yes.
