Flu shots
I do PR for a hospital and am thinking about getting a flu shot, since they are offerred free to all employees. I hate shots, and am a big baby when it comes to needles. So my question is: Did you get a flu shot this year? And if you could sugar coat the pain and stuff for me that would be awesome!!

Re: Flu shots
i got it (and have every year for the past 15 years!) and it isn't bad. it stings for a second going in, and it hurt to sleep on that arm that night. someone suggested taking advil or tylenol an hour before the shot to lessen the pain. and get it soon! flu season has begun!

Re: Flu shots
I get it every year, the only side effect I get is a sore arm where the needle went, thats it and it lasts for a day.

Re: Flu shots
i get it every year and it doesn't hurt at all. No soreness either.
Way better experience for 10 seconds than having the flu for a week.

Re: Flu shots
I've never had the flu so my doctor advised me not to get one. If you've had the flu I say go for it

Re: Flu shots
I got mine last month. I didn't even feel the stick. My arm was a little sore for a day or two after, but no big deal.

Re: Flu shots
I haven't gotten mine yet since I've been sick for most of the month with a cold. It doesn't really hurt at all.

Re: Flu shots
I got it and it really didnt hurt more than a pinch for a second. No side effects except that arm was sore for about a day or two.

Re: Flu shots
I don't get the flu shots, but honestly shots don't hurt that much. It's over in an instant. Start counting backwards in your head from a totally random number -- like 387 -- and continuing counting until they say you're done. You probably won't even feel it b/c you'll be concentrating on counting backwards. Too good with numbers? Try saying the alphabet backwards.

Re: Flu shots
I've been getting it for the past five years. Before that I got the FLU every single year - without fail.
Since I've gotten the shot - the shot itself doesn't hurt at all (like a pinch) and my arm (like others stated previously) is a little sore. However, I do get minor-flu symptoms w/in a week of the flu-shot - achy and a little conjestion.
Anyone know where I can get the flu-shot? I've always gotten it from my employer (free) - but don't work for that company anymore.

Check your local pharmacies. Lots of time they will have Flu shot clinics for minimal cost.
