Flu while pregnant

Ughhh I think I have the flu. I've had my flu shot postponed 2X because of a mild cold and I think I have the flu.

I woke up this morning with my whole body aching so badly like I was hit by a truck but no fever. I stayed in bed almost all day and I've gradually gotten worse. I now have nausea, no vomiting yet chills and now a low grade fever

The baby has been much "quieter" than normal but I feel movement every few hours.

I'm still drinking fluids and going to the bathroom every hour or so and my urine looks good.

I haven't called my midwives yet... I'm not sure what tehy can do and I'm not really dehydrated just miserable.

Anyone have the flu while PG.... I'm usually pretty good with this stuff but I'm panicking about the baby today.....

You need to call the midwives. They will tell you how to monitor the fever. I don't think you can let it go much over 100. I could be wrong though. But, they should know that you have it.

Feel better and keep drinking fluids if you can. Ugh that is so awful.

I haven't but I would call them and let them know - because if nothing else they can monitor you and make sure you are okay.

Just try to get as much rest as possible and keep up your fluids - if you can't get food down drink gatorade or something like that to keep up your electolites - water is less important than juice, ginger ale etc - to keep some sugar and calories into your body. Try some hot lemonade if you don't want the caffeine or decafe tea. If you get a fever you might want to take tylenol and try to keep the fever down (and stay dressed coolly without a warm blanket or warm clothes so your fever doesn't spike).

I called them. THey told me to stay in bed and start drinking more juice and broth instead of water for the sugar and electrolytes and to take tylenol if my temp goes above 100.4 and if my temp spikes to 102.0 or more with tylenol to give them a call or if I can't keep fluids down...

She isn't sure if its the flu or just a virus but either way this is the course of treatment for both.....

Oh man I am so miserable.....
