Re: flying airplaines in first trimester
I think that it is totally safe early on it becomes more complicated later on and most airlines have thier own restrictions for those in the later stages but when in doubt ask your dr

Re: flying airplaines in first trimester
My Dr. said flying was perfectly fine, but to make sure you stay hydrated and if it's a long flight to get up and walk around every hour or so.

Re: flying airplaines in first trimester
I flew during my first trimester and was absolutely fine! I was even in Denver- where the elevation is a 'mile high'
I was fine!
My dr said traveling was fine domestically until 30 weeks!

Re: flying airplaines in first trimester
I flew at 6 weeks and have another flight planned at 10 weeks.
My first flight was pretty miserable due to my morning sickness. However, I think it is perfectly safe for the baby.
My doctor told me that they recommend you not to fly in the first trimester due to miscarriage risk. The flying won't cause the miscarriage but just in case you experience one, you would probably want to be close to home.

My doctor said the same in my 1st trimester when we traveled to Aruba.

Re: flying airplaines in first trimester
I flew to CA at 9.5 weeks. I tried to get up and walk around every hour or so. My only issue with flying was that I seemed much more prone to motion sickness. Planes usually don't bother me, but I felt awful on the flight home.

Re: flying airplaines in first trimester
I flew during my first trimester, it was fine (the freaking flight did not feed me, even when I offered to pay, that was not pleasant ). I travel a lot for my job too.

I flew to Dominican Republic at about 5 weeks. It's perfectly fine, I told my dR. that I was going away and she didn't say anything about not flying.

Re: flying airplaines in first trimester
I flew in the early 3rd trimester....
just don't let them dehydrate you with those super tiny drinks. see if you can buy a bottle of water (or 2) once past security and bring it on the plane
also walk around every hour...
