Flying at 27 weeks
Hi, I'm planning on attending my brother's wedding in August at which point I will be 27 weeks. I have to fly to get there. I didn't think it would be a problem, but my cousin warned me that some doctors don't like you to fly that late. I thought it would be fine as long as I was healthy -- does anyone know anything about this?

You should be okay but I would make sure to tell your doctor. So long as your pregnancy has been a healthy one and the baby is okay, they will tell you to make sure you are hydrated during the duration of the flight and to get up often to walk around.

Re: Flying at 27 weeks
I flew to Hawaii at 26 weeks, then flew home at 27 weeks. My doctor said it was fine. Just make sure you drink TONS of water and walk around the plane every half hour. Also, make sure you get an aisle seat because of all the walking/bathroom trips. Have a great time on your trip! BTW: make sure you eat something too and bring healthy, non-perishable snacks for the plane ride.

I went to Miami at 30 weeks. It was fine. Just not in the last two months.

I flew from Ireland to NY at 30 weeks and back to Ireland at 33 weeks. You should be fine if you have a normal pregnancy. Just be sure to drink lots of water and get up and move around the cabin a lot.

Re: Flying at 27 weeks
I'm 26 weeks and leaving for London on Saturday. The airlines was fine with it as long as I wasn't within 30 days of my due date.
I have a note from my doctor, as well as a copy of my last test results/sono, just in case.

Re: Flying at 27 weeks
I went to the Bahamas when I was 26/27 weeks. My doc said I could travel up to 30 weeks. LAter if I needed to, and he thought I was ok to do so.

I'm flying home to NY next weekend and I'll be 30 weeks. The doctor said that was fine but to make sure and get up and stretch (it's a 3 hr. flight).

Re: Flying at 27 weeks
Thanks for clarifying. I also thought it was fine as long as it wasn't in the last 2 months. I would have been so upset if I hadn't been able to attend my brother's wedding.
