Flying with a formula fed baby?
Anyone know the rules? I use powder, but should I get RTF for the flight? Can I bring baby bottles of water or bottled water to add the powder to? Are there any restrictions with baby food? TIA

Re: Flying with a formula fed baby?
Its been about a year since I flew but DD was 5 months old and formula fed. I was able to bring a sealed powdered formula can in my diaper bag and empty bottles bought bottled water after security check it was much easier that way. on the way home I did the same. I actually asked the peds office for the sample cans that way I couldhave 2 unopened cans to fly with and not shell out a fortune if they weren't empty when I was coming home Nd needed to throw it away. Worked out great. this was jet blue.

As far as baby food. I bought yogurt in the airport to feed her then bought food at a local store when I got to my destination. Hope this helps

I did the same thing as Meggo when DS was on powder.
When he was on RTF - I just brought a 32 oz container on the flight. I had to open it because we flew Spirit and it took over an hour to check in and DS was hungry - they just waved a wand over it.
As for food - you can bring a reasonable amount.

Bring whatever you need for the filght, the waiting around in both airports and just in case there are delays! I have flown a bunch of times and baby food and drinks are the exception...I have brought breastmilk and cows milk in bottles and sippy cups and they never questioned it! I just kept it in our everyday collapsable cooler (fits 4 bottles size) and take it out of my bag through security!
