Flying with a toddler

So I am flying to Israel on the overnight flight Thursday. It's 11 hours. I have flown with Jordy when she was an infant, but as a toddler, this is a whole new game.

So I know to get a DVD player with earphones, toys, snacks, books and drinks. And not to preboard.

What else do I need to know?

ETA: Jordana is a very spirited girl who will be 2 in two weeks.

Make sure at least one of the toys and books are new, so it will engage her for a little while.

Also build it up with Jordana over the next few days - "we're going on a BIG airplane to go to Israel - it will take a while, you can sit in mommy's lap, we'll watch movies, etc"

Try to get seats next to a family with a toddler. It will entertain her for endless hours.

Remember to bring her comfort objects for at night, like her blankie, or a stuffed animal, so it's familiar to her and signifies sleepytime.

Above all else - GOOD LUCK!!

Ditto on all counts!

Good luck! I have 2 crazy children and am dreading my 3.5 hour flight on Wednesday, never mind an 11 hour flight! Chat Icon
