Flying with Baby
My doctor suggested 1/2 tsp of Benadryl for my 10 month old for tomorrow's flight to FL, although I'm a bit nervous to medicate him, esp. considering the box says it's for ages 6 and up. He is prone to ear problems and does have sinus issues too, so it would probably be a good idea, but I have some questions for those of you that may have used Benadryl before:
1. Should I wake him up if he's knocked out from the Benadryl while taking off and landing for him to suck on a bottle or just leave him sleeping?
2. How long will he be asleep for? Will it mess up his sleeping schedule once I arrive in FL? In other words, will he wake up at 8pm and think the day is just starting?
What are your experiences? Any suggestions other than books/toys? He's sitting on my lap. Thanks!

Re: Flying with Baby
I just asked my son's pediatrician the same thing at his 1 year checkup. We're traveling in a couple of weeks and I asked him if there's anything I should give him. He said no, just have him suck on something during takeoff and landing for his ears. Although I was wondering about the benadryl or something like that. Only thing I have heard is sometimes it makes kids/babies excitable instead of sleepy.

Re: Flying with Baby
I really wouldn't drug a baby to make them sleep during the flight. It can have the opposite effect and make the child hyper.
