Follie size? Update

I am CD11 and had my u/s today. He saw two "mature follicles" - that's what he said. He didn't say the size, but when I was getting dressed the u/s machine was still on and, if I read it right, they were 11 and 12. He has to check my bloodwork, but he said most likely I'll do the trigger tonight with IUI on Thurs. - I've been googling follicle size, does this seem ok? I'm apt to trust he knows what he's doing and I know follicles grow 2-3mm a day, but does that sound ok?

Update: I totally read the screen wrong - lesson learned, don't try to figure it out. Turns out one is 20 and the other is over 20!

Re: Follie size?

Hmm..

I thought mine said he liked them to be around 18 or so before we triggered... but I'm not sure if it's different for Clomid vs. injectables.

Re: Follie size?

My follies (I had a lot bc I have PCOS) were always above 16, 17 I want to say. I had a few that were 11 or 12 but that's bc of the PCOS. I never triggered until I had several that were about 17, for ex.

Re: Follie size?

That is probably not right then. Usually they trigger around 17 or 18.

I agree. Mature follies are usually in the 18-20 range, so they usually will trigger in the 17-18 range.

I agree with PP's...that sounds small but they may not have been the follie sizes. They may have been just random numbers or codes for something. You can always call and ask your nurse for the sizes!!

Re: Follie size?

When they measure follies, they do 2 diameters of them, because they're not perfectly round, then average the numbers, so maybe the 11 and 12 were just the narrower of the 2 diameters.
