follow up appointment after D&C

i had my d&C almost 3 weeks ago (as of monday will be 3 weeks)

i was supposed to follow up after 2 weeks but i was away and i never made an appointment. I really need to call the doc. but i have been avoiding it b/c i can't miss work to go to an appointment ( i have like no sick days OR vacation days left), and i do partime work in the evenings and i have already had to cancel a bunch b/c of the D&C and going away. I am trying to avoid having to cancel again. My schedule is SO unflexible it is terrible!

Anyway....what happened at your followup appointment? do the doc. actually examine you or did she just talk to you. I know i should really go in...did anyone else miss their follow up??

I had mine last week....they examine you, ask if you've had any complications, test your blood to see your levels, and discuss next steps.

okay, i guess i really need to make that appointment. I think part of me is just avoiding it b/c i don't want to think about it anymore

I didn't have any BW done. I just had an internal exam done where he told me my uterus was back to normal.

its important that you see the dr. He checks that you are healing well and can also give you the OK to start TTC again. YOu had surgery, you should really follow up

eta: at my appt they took blood to make sure levels were dropping. Turned out my levels dropped REALLY slow and they had to monitor me weekly. He also did an internal exam to make sure my uterus was healed.

it's really important that you go...
the doc will give you an exam to make sure everything healed up correctly.
