Follow-up on resume- WWYD?
Hi Everyone- Wanted to get input/advice-
I sent my resume and a cover letter to a small company last Friday via e-mail. They don't have a specific job posted, but they have a email address for people to apply to and said "they are always looking for experienced HR professionals to join their team".
I haven't heard from them at all, not even a confirmation that they received my e-mail. I know it has been less than a week. How long should I wait before following up? When I do- is a phone call or another e-mail best?
I haven't done this before. I am currently employed, and I got this and my former job through a recruiter.
Thanks!

I would wait at least a week or longer. Sometimes they need time to review your resume and see if there is a position to put you in or see if they can create one. Also the person who makes this decision could be out. I know I sent alot of resumes by email and never received a confirmation from them. I either received a call to come in or a letter saying they didn't have a position for me.

i would do nothing. i dont' follow up on resumes, only on interviews. i don't think its appropriate. if they want to speak with you, they'll call/email. sorry to sound harsh, but its the truth IMO.
