DS was wearing them from the very first week! DS lived in them. I made the mistake of only registering for one. I think I picked up another 10 or so. DS kept growing and outgrowing them. We started off with NB, then I got small, then medium. I haven't bought more but I'm thinking we will probably need large now.

After I stopped swaddling, so I would say 3-4 months old.

Maybe a week or two after he was born. He is a December baby though, and our house is cold, so he needed them.

I just started using the fleece sleep sacs with DD (10weeks) last week, mostly because her room is at the cold end of the house so she wouldn't freeze when she sleeps. She loves them!

Since day 1. She hates being swaddled (always has) so at night we either put her in feetie pj's or a long sleeved onesie and a sleep sack.

only this past week! :) she is 3 months old now and just started her in the crib. if she was a fall or winter baby, i probably would have started her sooner, but she hated being swaddled and being born in july and we don't have much AC in our house, all she slept in was a onesie or a light sleeper.

We never used them.
Same here...We swaddled DD until about 3 months and then just started putting her in regular PJs.

same here... i can actually tell you that he started at 1115pm the night we got home.. that was when dh and i gave up on swaddling

I think it depends on how old DC is, what the temp in the room is, and what material the sleep sack is. Some sleep sacks are cotton, others are fleece. Since the nights are cooler now, I think more than a onsie would be needed, but I don't know what temp you keep your heat on.

I always put only a onsie underneath.... nothing more except maybe socks... ds was a hot pot and now only sleeps in cotton pjs and an undershirt... if i put even a cotton blanket on him he is soaked in the morning... so it really depends on your child

DS was born in Feb - so during the day he had the ones w/ arms - sometimes I swaddled him at night with them too.
Last fall before he started walking/crawling I put him in the ones without arms (which I thought were the stupidest things until I needed them). - DS kicked the blankets off.
This year (1 1/2) DS just wears sleepers b/c he still kicks blankets off but walks and they just don't work for us.
