Football night food?
I am SO not in the mood to prepare a football menu for Thursday's game.
I have a big pack of ground beef and chicken in the fridge - but I am not feeling chili or a taco bar or anything like that.
Our friends like variety and lots of little things to pick on as opposed to a big meal.
I plant to take off Thursday (I've been meaning to use up my PTO ) so I can clean and shop.
Please inspire me!

Re: Football night food?
I have to tell you when we have people over for game night or something like that, I do all store bought stuff.
Easy, breasy and BJ's has some really gourmet tasting frozen stuff.
I got these mini shepard's pies there once that went like hotcakes. They were amazing.
I am just superrrrr lazy I guess!

Re: Football night food?
I would def. make the cheeseburger crescent ring with the ground beef because its easy and people can pick at it. For the chicken I would do little chicken bites with different dipping sauces or a buffalo chicken wing dip because everyone I know is obsessed with it.

Re: Football night food?
When we host football games we usually just do some chips and dips, pigs in a blanket, baked beans, and order a hero and salads. Maybe I'll make a stromboli.
Except superbowl. That's a whole different animal.

Re: Football night food?
You can make crockpot meatballs - throw mini meatballs in the crockpot with 12 oz jar Heinz chili sauce and 12 oz grape jelly. Cook on low for a few hours until sauce combines. If you want to use up the ground beef you can make your own, but I usually buy the Cooked Perfect Swedish meatballs (in the frozen section) or even the Trader Joe's mini meatballs (turkey, etc.).
You could also use the ground beef to make mini taco cups with the frozen mini phyllo shells or even the Tostitos scoops. Layer in cooked ground beef, shredded cheese, bake to heat up/melt cheese. Then add dollops of salsa or sour cream or guac (or just serve that stuff on the side).
I also make an easy taco dip to serve with chips - layer cream cheese, salsa, and shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese in a pie plate and bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes until hot and bubbly. I am sure you can add cooked ground beef to that dip (in between the cream cheese and salsa), and it would be good. I'd cook the ground beef with taco seasoning.
With the chicken, if you don't want to do buffalo chicken dip, you can do buffalo chicken bites (lots of recipes online you can google).
If you don't care about using up the ground beef (or chicken), I saw the Pioneer Women do this make ahead little slider sandwiches that you wrap in foil and heat up in the oven... I think she did roast beef and cheese, but I've seen ham and swiss ones, too. I think they are on my "Party Food" board on Pinterest. But they seem like they would be easy and can be made ahead and would serve a crowd for a casual party.
I will post link in case any of the "Party Food" inspires you.
