I wouldn't do it, but honestly doesn't sound too expensive for a party for 50. Certainly not something I would ever consider for a 1 or 2 year old, but if I had $$ like that - it sounds like a blast for a 3-5 yr old!

I guess when you break it down, it's only $40 a person. But, for pizza and just 2 hours of fun, I think it's $$$$$.

I think its CRAZY expensive and believe me we have had our fair share of $$$ parties. Most of those parties would be from people that live in PA not NY bc most NYERs arent shlepping 50 guests to PA for a weekend in the snow. I also wouldnt think that people in PA would think 40 pp was a steal and also I agree for pizza and a hug from elmo, I think they are nuts! Lastly, can the kids even go on the rides? I mean what are they going to do in sesame for 2 hrs without rides? I went to that character dine and it looked like a cellar, nothing classy at all about it but again I gave them 20 bucks a head for the 3 of us.

that's completely nuts IMO
As far as I'm concerned, it's not a matter of whether or not DH and I have the $$$... it's simply totally over the top for a simple B'day party. What would be the encore the following years??! what would the 16th B'day be? Will that party be extravagant enough to make it onto a realityTV show?

This is how I feel too. I know that everyone is entitled to do what they want for their kid....but DH's cousin had a 1st bday party at a wedding reception hall with over 100 people, tons of entertainers (which scared the little kids) and it was sooo over the top!
DS had a BBQ at a local park with close family. I haven't heard him complain about it

I honestly would prefer to attend the BBQ! Tasty food, comfy atmosphere, and no entertainers scaring little kids
