your DC will be 2 or almost 2 or a little over 2 when baby is born....
will u try to go buy a toddler bed and give baby the crib? (even if ur crib is a transitional like mine?)
ill HOPEFULLY be in the same predicament (HELLO??!! AF-DAY 53!!! ugh!!!! dont worry- i am going to cvs to buy the humphreys 11, as suggested by the TTC board- i guess its supposed to bring on the AF!)
ANYway, i was wondering what u all were going to do....you wont buy another transitional crib right? youd buy a toddler bed...or, id probly just buy a full size.....

Juliette is 29 months and will not leave her crib! Her toddler bed is set up in her room, but Kristopher is in a cradle...

Gianna was 14 months when Amelia was born. She kept her crib and furniture and we bought Amelia new stuff.

Molly will be about 19 months when this one gets here. Molly has a convertible crib so we will probably buy another one.

Abby will be 29 months when this baby comes. We bought her a big girl bed and although she loves it and is very excited she has no desire to sleep in it. The new baby will need her crib by November so she will need to learn to love sleeping in her big girl bed in the next month or so.

Re: for all u preggers out there, heres what i want to know!
im NOT preggo but i'll reply
My 2 oldest are 17m apart. By the time the baby got out of the bassinet, JA was about 20-21m,and went into the toddler bed. we did have them in our bed A LOT so I cant say specifics. But I would never have bought another crib at that point, thats just my opinion.
and plus I secretly couldnt wait for my boys to have car beds (and Im in denial that its time to get twin beds, luckily my 5yr old is a shrimp)

Joseph was 22 months when Maddie was born. He was evicted from his crib (which he rarely slept in) once Maddie outgrew the bassinet.
We bought him a regular twin bed. I saw no point in spending the extra money on a toddler bed. He loved sleeping in a "big boy" bed.
eta. I'M NOT PREGNANT EITHER.

My 2 are 20 months apart. We moved my daughter to a twin bed when she was 18 months. We wanted her to get used to her new bed before the baby came so she didn't feel "kicked out" of her crib. We were lucky, she transitioned great.

We're not pregnant, but our DC are about 3 years apart. We bought them each their own convertible crib, so there was never a worry about passing down a bed, or having extra. When DS was old enough, we converted his crib to a toddler bed. DD has her own crib now that will be converted to a toddler bed when she is ready.

when ds # 3 was born ds #2 was 22mos and I bought him a toddler bed only because he was climbing out of his crib and I couldn't keep him in it. (Should of just bought a reg. bed because ds didn't sleep in his toddler bed either ) But if I could of kept him in the crib I would of.

We are going to be in the same situation and I was thinking that I was going to buy another transit crib.
I didn't really think about it that much. I guess that it depends on where DS is at that point. If he's climbing out of the crib then I'll buy a toddler bed and give the new baby the crib.

Not sure- Matty will be 16 months when baby #2 is born in April- I think he will be a little young for a toddler bed?
Maybe when baby #2 is out of the bassinett he can make the move- we will have to play it by ear.....

Re: for all u preggers out there, heres what i want to know!
not pregnant here either but mine are 2 years apart. We got Andrew a toddler bed and moved him to his own room, since we knew #2 was a girl and she would be in the nursery and eventually be her room. He started with naps in the bed, and still slept in the crib at night once Lauren arrived, because she was in the bassinet in our room. When Lauren was 2-3 months old, we told him he needed to be in his bed so his baby sister could go in the crib and that was that. He was an easy child to transition. Getting him to stay in his bed is a whole other post

ours will be 20 months apart and there is no way DD is ready for a bed, so we bought a new crib... hers is a convertible anyway...

Julia never used her crib (we co-sleep) so she will go into a toddler bed which she has now, and the baby will get her crib and the other furniture.

Mine are 21 months apart. We just moved Jayden from the co-sleeper to the convertible crib and we got Nate a toddler bed. We wanted to get a twin size bed, but it would make the room really tight with a crib, bed, changing table and dresser.

Re: for all u preggers out there, heres what i want to know!
My kids are 21 and 22 months apart and both times, the one using the crib went into a bed. My DS #1 went into a twin bc we had one and I didnt want to buy another crib mattress or a toddler bed. When my DD was born, I got a toddler bed and crib mattress from my SIL, which she still uses. Her room is pretty small so a toddler bed worked good. If I had to purchase something, I'd probably get a twin bed.
