For anyone that used a Diaper Champ, Genie, etc....
Did you find that once you child started solids there was no containing the smell in these pails?

Oh you did...sorry
Yeah I had to get rid of it today....no matter what I did I couldn't contain the lethal stench!!!!
ETA: You were able to keep the pail this long? Kerri is only 5 months and I am like forget about it!

Re: For anyone that used a Diaper Champ, Genie, etc....
I put the stinky diapers into a bag first and then put them in the diaper champ.
I know seems like its defeating the purpose if I have to bag them first but with a wriggly baby in my arms and as I change her upstairs I dont want to have to carry her and the bag of poop downstairs its easier and there is no smell.

We use the stage 2 refill (that is the one meant for solids) and found that it works pretty well.

Ours has been sitting in the garage for over a month now. i keep a small pail in the nursery now and I wrap all the poopie diapers in those scented blue bags-- it holds the smell SOO much better than the diaper champ did!

Flush the bulk of the poop and the diaper champ works fine.

DS is 6 1/2 months and I still use the champ, I have no smell, I put the diapers in the powder smelling bags first.
