Theres a few rent a car places that go global. I think Hertz or Avis are one of them. What I would do is go to the Dublin airport website- they should give you a list of car rental places.

I go to Ireland often and always rent from Dan Dooley's. I believe it is a national chain in Ireland.

DH and I used Dn Dooley's too for our 16 day HM. Great car and service. Price was reasonable too!

Enterprise has a desk in Dublin airport. We always rent from them.

When we were in Ireland last year we rented a car from Hertz for approx 500.00 for the week for pickup in Dublin and return in Shannon. We drove all over the country. Buy a good map....

this is who I've used as well
Dan Dooley's
I used Dan Dooley's before and they don't open until 6 am, which is a pain when you arrive in at 5 am, exhausted and just want to get your car and keep moving.
I used Irish Car Rentals this year and they were excellent!
They actually advised me to leave my car back to them while I went to the UK for 3 days to save myself the expense of the car and parking at Dublin airport. I would highly recommend them.

Same for me!!! My family uses Dan Dooley 90 % of the time. Also, if you're flying with Aer Lingus, they often run deals with Dan Dooley for a discounted car rental.
Also, if you don't drive standard shift (stick) you must request an automatic when you book, otherwise, they miay not have one available for you.
