Re: ? For HS teachers
In my school he would have to go to summer school even if he passed the Regent. I would try to get in touch with your son's school (hound them if you have to) because I think this policy is different depending on the type iof school/district/etc. Good luck.

Re: ? For HS teachers
I just had this conversation with a math teacher friend last night. In my school and her school you have to repeat the class even if you passed the regents. The good news is that your DC won't have to suffer through the regents exam again.

Re: ? For HS teachers
most likely he will have to take the class again (summer or next year) to get the credit to graduate or move on to the next level.
but like others have said - he won't have to retake the regents.

Re: ? For HS teachers
I believe they need 2 hs math credits to graduate so he will likely have to retake the class. Definitely get in touch with the guidance counselor to see what his options are though.

Re: ? For HS teachers
All students need 3 math credits. If he fails the class, he will need to repeat it either in summer school or net year.
ETA: He will not need to retake the Regents exam.

Call his guidance counselor. In most schools, they're the ones responsible for summer school registration.

Re: ? For HS teachers
In our school if they barely failed (with a 55) they can get credit if they pass the regents. It's possible that his school does that, too.
Or there is always the chance that the teacher changed the grade based on the Regents.

that's a possibility or maybe the regents counts for 1/5 of the year grade? so maybe it bumped him up to passing for the year?
definitely get in touch with the guidance counselor.
