what type of earring did you put in initially...also did all of you get it done at ur ped's office?

the ped told us we can get dd ears done after her 3 month visit so in the next 3 weeks we can do it. my office does not do it, but my friends recommended a jeweler in my area that does it and they are very clean. the jeweler has the earrings, i think they come in all stone colors and are the surgical posts. after that i am not sure how long before you can put in whichever earring you like

That is funny. My ped said that they used to do it too, but between the mothers complaining and hovering over them about how to do it, they stopped! I am nervous to do it, I don't like seeing dd in pain but my friends who have girls all said they cried for a second and it was over! Most people I know got the clear stones because they look the most like diamonds.

That is what I am not sure about. When I asked my friend what size diamonds she bought for her dd she said you dont put them in yet. Maybe you have to pierce with a surgical post first and then you can change? do the ssurgical posts come with diamonds or can you pierce with a gold post i amnot sure

We had DD's ears done at Claire's at Roosevelt Field after her three month Dr. visit. We had to bring proof she got the first tetnus shot. They should provide the earrings because they use a special gun that the earrings go with.

My ped's office does piercings and the "earring" doctor has done thousands of them. He put in gold earrings on her (I didn't have a choice) and told me not to touch them for one month. Twice a day I was to flush the area with alcohol but that was it, no turning the earring. Then when one month passes, turn each earring once. The next day you can change the earrings and as long as it is 14K or better (like platinum, 18K, etc) your DD can use it. I bought her diamond studs in white 14K gold. They are gorgeous. Of course the next day she has them on, she loses the backing (even though it was a screwback!). Luckily the earring didn't fall out though.
