For my fellow friends who get paranoid/worried easily
So at my new job I share an office with the guy who is my assistant. Haven't shared an office in years, but whatever--the job is going well/people are nice. He's nice, but very quiet and I guess he wanted this job when the old person quit, but it didn't happen. They hired me. So he's nice to me but I guess kinda wanting the job, too--get it? Well, we get along fine and have made some innocent jokes about the bodybuilding magazine, just like, "Eh, people reading this won't care if something has an upper or lower cap..." Harmless...people here joke about some of the bodybuilders being like Joey from Friends! So he told another girl here that he liked me and thought I was so funny, and shared how I joked that "no one was reading it." Well, that's not really what I meant or said. The girl said he said it in a nice way, that he thought it was "cute" and that I was very funny...but it made me nervous. If the owners heard that and thought I REALLY meant it, that's not cool. So the moral is I guess I need to watch it with him, even when I think I'm joking. Still, it was enough to ensue paranoia. Also, the first day or two I was getting used to the mag's style...and he made some changes to my work. Nothing major, but still...I am now worried he told the owners I had to get used to the style, which is nothing bad but you know, when someone wants your job and all that? However, he keeps telling me how "pleased" they are with me and how fast I am and all that good stuff, so we shall see. Thanks for letting me vent! I guess it's just an odd little spot to be in with someone.
