For new moms who aren't having a shower, when are u ordering furniture?

I decided not to have a baby shower (this is my first child) because we had 7 weddings this summer in my family and that included bridal shower gifts, bachelorette party gifts and wedding gifts. So I feel that my family is all gifted out and I don't want to be asking them to shell out more money for yet another party.

Anyway, when should I order my crib, stroller... all that stuff? I was thinking around 7 months but have no idea!

I've read some furniture companies can take over 12 weeks to come in and in some cases 14 weeks, so DH and I plan to order within the 5-6th month to give us time to plan accordingly incase there are shipping delays.

I was told that the furniture I want takes 8-12 weeks to come in as it is special order. So we are ordering around 6.5 -7 months.

It took 11 weeks for our baby furniture to come in. We ordered it around 20 weeks and I got it two weeks ago. They also messed up and NEVER ORDERED one of the pieces I asked them for. (I didn't realize when I looked at the receipt that it wasn't on there... so partially my fault...) But it's being shipped up directly from the store from FL where they had one in stock (it's just the hutch for over the dresser) so it should be here within the week, as opposed to going to the manufacturer again which would take another 10-12 weeks.

Some pieces, like cribs, many stores have in stock. So it may be worth looking soon and seeing what you'll need to do and how long it could take to get.

Prob the 7-8 month, I am planning on having the baby in the bassinet to start, so even if it takes 12 weeks to come in - I think that will give me enough time

I ordered my furniture on 8/8 and got the last piece last week. It all depends what you are going to order, but I'd get a head start on furniture.

As far as the stroller and all the registry items, you could probably wait a little longer.

We were told by the different places we ordered the crib and glider that it would take 10-12 weeks to come in. In reality, it took two weeks for the glider to come, and 3 DAYS for the crib . We wound up painting this past weekend because we don't want to keep the crib in the living room any longer!

We don't do showers so we ordered furniture at around 28 weeks and it was delivered 8 weeks later.

I purchased all the necessities for the first 2-3 months. I started buying at around 35 weeks...it was a process!

I do have a registery for when people buy gifts after the baby is born.

We ordered when I was 23 weeks. I'm not really worried because my son is going to sleep with us for the first month or two.
