For Parents that do CIO....
Please help. My DS is 8 months old and is waking up at night AGAIN, after sleeping through the night for quite some time. I KNOW he can soothe himself to sleep b/c he used to do this regularly. Since he can sit up on his own and is learning to pull up on thiings he is waking at night and NOT wanting to go back to sleep. Last night I tried everything, even a bottle at 1am. After that he cried/fussed for at least an hour. But he did eventually go to sleep by himself after 2:30. Was this too long to let him fuss? What do I do? Any help would be sooooooooo much appreciated. I can't stand these sleepless nights while having to also work full time.....

Re: For Parents that do CIO....
Oh we totally had a period like this too. DS slept through the night then started waking again for a little bit. We did CIO at first he would cry for like 2+ hours even with 5-10 min intervals of soothing and leaving him again then within a week it got less and less. I also found and I know this is a no no to many people but I left 1-2 toys (soft ones and 2 attached to the side rails) in his crib so if he did wake after the initial shock and crying he would entertain himself with toys and fall back asleep since he could see with his night light on. He is 17 months now and he still on occasion wakes up plays and goes back to sleep so that has worked for us. Good luck!

My problem is that if I go in his room AT ALL he will not go back to sleep. Is it mean to not go in at all after the initial check to make sure he is ok? Even if I do that he's sure to not go back to sleep anymore. I'm at a loss here for what to do. We have a crib soother attached to his crib but he seems to just get frustrated with it.... I really need some My whole household does. Sorry for venting...
