Normally he charges $2000 but gave us 10% off because he was an old friend of my grandfathers.

I'm pretty sure mine is $1,000...i thought it was a standard fee actually.
i'm only buying - not selling anything, don't know if that matters.

I think ours was 950 but it was a discount bc of our mortgage broker and buyers agent and atty all work together.....i think the regular rate was 1200 or so

Ours was $1000.
IMO I wouldn't pay over that, b/c that's a typical charge (at most).
You can get great service for anywhere from 900-1000

ITA.
We paid $1K and ours was a short sale (if that makes a difference in anyway). I can see up to $1200.. but def not above that.
I dont have an atty rec though b/c i wasn't really a fan of ours.
