? For Perm. Certified Teachers . . .
I am wondering where the proof for your teaching experience comes from? Does my district have to submit a letter for proof? I notice it is the one of the things not checked off on my list of things needed to fulfill the perm. cert. requirements . . . .
I have no idea why I thought that information automatically went to the state . . . .

Re: ? For Perm. Certified Teachers . . .
I had the superintendent's secretary write a letter indicating my dates of full time employment that was signed by my superintendent. I mailed the letter to the state, and am ASSUMING they received it

The secretary in the supt. office writes a letter, and then I had some experience from another school so I had to contact them and they had to send me the letter so I could send it in.

Re: ? For Perm. Certified Teachers . . .
So basically you have a letter written by the school district and send it to the office of teaching initiatives?

I did the same. It was a while ago though. I might have also sent a copy with the material I was sending as well. Can't exactly remember.

As long as your application is submitted you are ok if it takes them that long to process the paperwork. We had sent in my DH application back in Feb of 2004 before all the new requirements cam into effect. It was fianlly process in Dec 2004. They are so far behind. That was one of the reasons why they were going to get rid of the Video test too. They don't have enough man power up there to get through everything in a timely matter.
As for the letter our district sent it to Albany for us.

I heard as long as the process has started, that your Perm. certificate is back-dated and there is no need to worry

Re: ? For Perm. Certified Teachers . . .
Don't worry. My certificate (provisional) expires in Jan. or Feb. too. I have called which is basically impossible about the experience thing they said they look into it. I also spoke to someone with the city that said the same thing. They are really backed up, I submitted mine in the summer too and still nothing. I think they are at a minimum of 7months behind. It makes me so nervous even though everyone says its olkay because all the necessary paperwork is in.
