For the hospital, when exactly do I need a nightgown?
My hospital told me to pack two bags...one for l&d and one for the recovery room. Which bag do I put the nightgowns and robes in?

L & D is when your delivering the baby, you will be wearing the hospital gown ....

For L&D I had a fully stocked bag. In it I had
1. Bottle of water
2. Sugar-free lollipops
3. Tissues
4. Socks
5. Cell phone
6. Tennis balls (for DH to run over my back during the excruciating back labor that I had with #2)
7. Change of clothes for DH
8. Toothbrush for us both/toothpaste
9. Hairbrush and extra ponytale holders
10. Camera

I only packed one bag. I don't see why you need 2.
I brought nightgowns with me but wound up just wearing the hospital gown the whole time. It was just easier.

I think it makes it easier. DH can take home the L & D bag and you dont need all the stuff all in one bag.
I have it all in one bag and it takes up space, for stuff, I want there, but might not use...
