Re: for the teachers, school social workers, ect...

I'm in VA.. so our districts are bigger (county wide... 130+ elementary schools) but ours has

1) 3 elementary magnet schools (science/technology or art/music)
2) GT Centers - 1 school per 3-4 is a 'center' that pulls all the students who have been labled 'gifted' and they have self-contained classes.
3) School Based GT Pull-Out (for parents who choose to keep their kids at their home school... or for students who do not qualify for all day pull-out).
4) Compacted Math (CM) - accellerated Math (IE - 5th graders learning 6th grade math) - the idea is that by the end of 6th grade they've completed through 7th and 8th grade math... I'm, personally, on the fence about CM.
