the zestimates are definitely way off. my parents house was appraised for about 300,000 more than they put

Wow, are you ladies saying that the site over or underestimates the home's price? I paid about $20k more than the zestimate!! That's upsetting!

dont go by the Zestimate at all. i have no idea where they get those $$s from.
it seems like at the beginning they were underpricing, now they are overpricing. i wouldnt pay it any attention.

This website has been posted many times before. The Zestimates are way off. It shows my house for 4x LESS than what we paid for it.

I agree. Our home just appraised for over $200K more than the zestimate on Zillow.

my house is zestimated at over $200k more than i paid. i know that it has gone up in value but over 200k is wishful thinking.

well I found their estimate to pretty much be what I am paying for my house...within 3,000 dollars. I think it is close.

wow that market value estimate is way off!!!! i put in my parents house and they have the price at $200k LESS than what my parenst just had it appraised at!!!

None of the houses in my area have Zestimates. All it has is MARKET ASSESSED VALUE. Are you sure this isn't what you see. The Market Assessed value is what you pay Taxes on, like the nassau property tax website so you want it to be less

that site IMO is good for getting comps, but their "zestimate" is WAYYYYY off. I looked up some houses that DH and I have seen and they're all listed on this site at around $50K above the sellers asking price.

I'd be thrilled if that site is accurate because it zestimates my house for a LOT more than we're paying for it!
I knew we'd gotten a good deal...but it's a $80,000 deal if that's right!

I actually went on this website last week and my house was exactly what it appraised for two months earlier but today I would have to say that it's off by about $50K. I wish I could sell my house for $496K, I'm hoping to get $440K.
