For those of you renting an apartment
How much extra are they charging you if any for your pet? My complex charges 50 bucks plus they want an extra 300 bucks for a security deposit. I think it is crazy. I tried to sneak my doggy in my apartment. I know wrong and someone told on me. I recieved a letter stating that I have to pay this extra money if I plan on keeping her. Right now she is staying with my parents who have a nice home and she loves it there and she seems to be adapting better there than she was in my apartment. The live about 10 min from me but I have to figure out if I want to apy this extra money.

I would contact your local government housing authority and inquire if the additional sum for the dog is legal. I believe they have the right to ask for a security deposit which of course would be returned to you when you move.

Re: For those of you renting an apartment
Well, our complex charges $35 per pet per month. So they just don't know about some of the dogs in this complex

I agree. One friend of mine questioned this when she moved into her complex & the management company said it was for additional maintenance.

Okay well I guess every complex has their own rules so I just need to follow them until I get my house

A lot of complexes are like that. One told me it was because tey would have to put in new rugs (for allergy reasons).
