Jen - counting my blessings...

For those of you that have been in your house for a year or so at least....

Are you completely "decorated"? My dining room still needs a few little extras...I want to put some pottery barn style shelves up and a curio cabinet...other than that my downstairs is fine.

Now the upstairs, that's a different story - it's still so bare bones! We did not get new BR furniture but it's on our list..so right now we have mixed pieces. I just got my curtains and plan on putting them up this weekend. The computer room (future nursery, God willing) is so bare - only a computer desk, a closet, and a pull out bed. But I don't want to do much to it bc I hope it's a nursery soon! The spare bedroom I have recently worked on...i have twin beds, a night table and a lamp, and some pictures on the wall. I want to add a book case that I have (my DH is going to refinish it) and I want to put in an area rug. It just seems so bare! It's so Chat Icon to try and do everything!

Tomorrow will be a year since we moved in - time flies! Chat Icon

not even close! we were here a year in june, the important stuff is done. We put in a new master bath, and painted a few rooms that were in need of a color besides brown paneling.
We only bought bedroom furnture and are waiting on doing the den. My kitchen needs a little help- we might re-face, but I am on no rush. It seems as if my taste has changed as well as my budget!
There is just never enough money

5 years and still working on it. I mean the rooms are furnished, but jsut to get by as we live. We are finally finishing painting our living room now, are picking up the coffee and end tables on Tuesday and the living room should just about be done. Don't worry, we took our time and planned our spending out over time so we would never have debt.

We aren't even close. Only have a couple of rooms decorated, one room still empty and still have papershades. We've been in our house for over a year and half now.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon we've been in our house for a year and half, and last night we finally UNPACKED the last box Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

but seriously, some rooms are done more than others, like my FLR has NOTHING in it but my FDR is done Chat Icon we are doing one room at a time. And we are waiting to get the wainscotting done on the stairs and hallway before I decorate that but I used to have just collage frames in the hallway. I plan on adding a nice bench or hallway table with a mirror...

Nope, we're not done decorating/furnishing our house and we've been in it now for 14 months. We have gotten so much done...but, there's still so much more to go!!!

Re: For those of you that have been in your house for a year or so at least....

This thread just made my day! Chat Icon

We have been in our house a little over two years and we have furniture in the rooms, but aside from the dining room/kitchen and our bedroom it is not what I would call decorated. It seems that with house projects, everything takes about 3 times longer than what I originally anticipate and it is all $$$.

It makes me feel good to know that others are in the same boat when it comes to house progress because sometimes I feel really overwhelmed by what we have left to do.
