for those of you who did a petting zoo/pony ride party

I have booked a petting zoo/pony rides for DS's 3rd birthday. I have them for an hour. I am thinking of having the party from 11am-1pm. The kids will show up at 11am and I will give them their cowboy/girl hats and badges and have an art project for them. They will also be able to play in the back yard. Then I will have the animals/pony rides from 11:30-12:30. Then wash the kids up and do pizza and cake, and then the pinata. Does that sound about right? Or should I leave more time for playing before lunch and extend the party until 1:30?

IMO 2 hours sounds a little short for all that stuff. However the kids will play while the petting zoo/pony rides are going on. I think you may need more time just to fit in all the stuff you have planned.

So I guess 2.5hours is better. Maybe I'll have the pizza show up at 12:45 so it gives the kids another 15 minutes to play before lunch. And then it leaves 45 minutes for pizza, cake and doing the pinata.

I would do the pony ride at least an hour after the start time of the party bc people are always late. Last year I had the entertainment come at 2pm (party started at 1:30) and half of the people weren't even her yet - it was sooo annoying!!

Ive heard people having similiar issues...I agree...entertainment shouldnt show up til 1 hr after start of party. and I agree with above...2 hrs is going to be cutting it a little short for everything IMO.Chat Icon
