For those of you who held your DC's 1st Birthday Party @ a restaurant
We are having our DC's birthday party at a restaurant (I would have loved to have it at the house, but there's just not enough room and it's too cold to have it in the yard!) My question is: How did you keep the children entertained at a restaurant? So far, we bought coloring books, but I know that won't last long...I was thinking of some sort of arts and crafts? The children will be from ages 0-5? TIA!

do you have a private room in the restaurant? if you do, you can have a character come and dance with the kiddies or some other entertainment.

We are having my DS party at a restaurant in December. I hired Little People Entertainment for 1.5 hours... Elmo, puppet show, hand/face painting. The party is 3-4 hours long so the kids will be entertained for 1/2 the time between that and eating. Good idea with the coloring books... maybe I'll pick some up, too!

thank for for your response! we do have a private room although it isn't that big...a magician would be a great idea but they probably cost a couple hundred don't they?

thank you for your response! I would love to do something like that but the room we are having it in isn't so big and I don't think we could afford that

since you have a private room...that would be great. Don't know the pricing though. I highly recommend Little People Entertainment..I had them for my DD's 1st bday party. Everyone enjoyed it..even the adults! The puppet show was soooo good!

Thank you Bella and Maria, I will have to check out the little people entertainment, maybe we can fit them in our budget
also, the party is the weekend after thanksgiving (the 27th...my DS was born on thanksgiving last year) so I was thinking of having them make turkeys out of paper plates? but than again, thanksgiving will be over, so I don't know

Re: For those of you who held your DC's 1st Birthday Party @ a restaurant
I had one and I have been to a bunch of friends/family...and they seemed to keep busy with crayons and coloring books or print-outs at each table..maybe some puzzles or crafts found in 99 cent stores or target $1 section..
Otherwise I brought stuff for my kids so I knew they were kept busy with stuff that I know that works!!
If entertainment is not in your budget - don't feel like you have to have it...Crayons and coloring books sometimes work just as well

I used http://www.legendaryentertainmentny.com/..they were very reasonable and great with the kids...I paid 100 for a clown and they did face painting, balloon animals and games with the kids. I would give them a call maybe they can work with your budget
