For those that had a baby shower at work
My job threw me a wonderful baby shower yesterday. They all chipped in a bought us our Britax car seat and some other really cute things. What's the proper way to thank everyone? an email? a thank you card addressed to the group? What do you say?

When we had any kind of party/shower for someone where I used to work the honoree would bring in bagels or cookies or something the following day and make up a sign or card thanking everyone.

I like the idea of a "thank you breakfast." Maybe you could also print out thank you notes from your computer and distribute them to all involved so it's a little more personal.

Can you bake a few batches of cookies or cupcakes and hand them out with individual TY cards? ( You can print them out on the computer) I think that would be really sweet and wouldn't cost much!

I sent an email... I was also going to hand out thank you cards but never got the chance since we were moving to another state and things were so hectic at that time.

Re: For those that had a baby shower at work
I think a small handwritten thank-you would be appropriate (that's what I plan to do for mine).

Re: For those that had a baby shower at work
I gave one to my co-worker, and he & his wife sent back to us hand written notes with a bagel & coffee the following monday morning. It was a small office of only 10 people so it was not a large expense for them & I thought it was cute.
To be honest the hand written note was the most touching part. She basically wrote that she was overcome when she saw how much people cared & was happy to celebrate her PG with us all. It was nice.

Re: For those that had a baby shower at work
We shared office space with a client of ours so I sent a thank you to my office and to the clients office. Their were to many thank you's to do seperatly.

Re: For those that had a baby shower at work
mine is next week. I would suggest a major card and post it to a bulletin. Possibly also email or give an individual card to the "main" people who facilitated it.

I did individual TYs. Though I have received group thank yous and have no problem with it.

Re: For those that had a baby shower at work
I think mine is today. Strange things are happening around here.... I'm thinking of sending a Thank You card to the different departments(I work for a major corporation) that maybe involved. I'd probably send a Thank You card individuallly to those that were planning and facilitate it their time to do so. I also have been getting gifts at home and I figured it's for those that work in the field and will not be able to make it or will not be in the day of. I'm sending those people a Thank You card individually to their homes since this information has been provided with their gifts when they bought presents off my registry.

Re: For those that had a baby shower at work
Is there a common place... like by the time clock or where people sign in. You can write one big thank you and get a tray of cookies.

Re: For those that had a baby shower at work
My DH's company gave us a gift card from BRU and had a card signed by the whole office. He works at home across the country so we don't even know half of these people.
I sent a group thank you and they posted it for everyone. HR said that it was really nice to do that and that everyone was really touched that we thanked them. Huh? Doesn't everyone write thanks yous?
Ok, going off on a tanget- but if its a group gift and there is a place to post- a group thank you would be fine.
ETA: Definately written is better IMO...
