For those that had baby early...

what were your signs and symptoms that you were in labor or right before labor. I think I am going to go early... just wanted to know what you were feeling before hand, or was it a big shock. Thanks~!

Re: For those that had baby early...

I didn't have any symptoms - I just "knew". My water broke almost 3 weeks early on a Monday night and the Saturday before we were playing poker with friends and I told them that the baby was going to come that week. Two days later she wanted out.

I was dilated at 35 weeks. I dilated to 5cm at 37 weeks without any labor signs other then pressure/cramping. I had him at 37 weeks

I wasn't feeling right and I thought it was just my pressure being high. Plus I had bad diarrhea which I later found out was a sing of early labor.

I was 1 cm dialated for about 4 or 5 weeks and had frequent contractions before I had her. I had two false alarmsChat Icon.

I went into labor at 38w 4 days - I had spotting (the first time ever during the pregnancy) then the contractions and I just knew something was up - I also ended up with a migraine as they got closer together.

My water broke. I had no other symptoms. While I was having contractions, I could not feel them. I finally felt them when I was close to transition (4 minute contractions less than 15 seconds apart) but had a c-section so I am not sure what the rest is like.

I had contractions the day before and really bad pain from what I thought was a foot in my ribs. My water broke the next evening.

Re: For those that had baby early...

I did not plan on have my 2nd son early but when I went for my 38wk check up the dr said I was losing fluid and said I had to go to the hospital to be induced. With my 3rd son I went early also didn't plan on it but one night I had sharp pains when to the hospital and thought I would be sent home as long as everything was ok however my son's heart rate was droping so later that night I had a c-sec.

Re: For those that had baby early...

I was having tons of braxton hicks the week before. I really thought I was going to go late, so I didn't pay much attention to them. Although, after having them for an entire week I did wake up on Sunday morning a little bummed that Chat Icon hadn't come that weekend.

That afternoon I the BH continued and I got major back pain (I now realize I was in early labor all day long) and I just felt weird. By that night the contractions were too constant and intense to sleep through. Chat Icon was born the next afternoon!

Re: For those that had baby early...

I went for my 36w appt on a monday and told the doc that I just felt off....I was out to dinner the night before and had some BH contractions and a bad headache. My BP was pretty high...I had no idea! He did bloodwork and sent me home on bedrest - and I had to go back on Wed. I made DH take off and come with me b/c I had a feeling I was going to have the baby soon. Dr. sent me to L&D from his office that day b/c my pressure was higher.

Re: For those that had baby early...

#1 - I was suprised but really shouldn't have been. I had false labor at 33ish weeks. I most likely lost my mucous plug and hadn't realized it (things changed in discharge majorly) until after I had the baby and read more on the subject. I had dropped around 34 weeks and felt a huge change in my belly. Iguess I was so shocked when at 37 weeks my water broke and I went into labor. Mostly because everyone kept telling me I had time and I looked high and a few days before dr said I wasn't dilated at all (was still nto dilated when my water broke).

#2 - I knew more what to look for but still couldn't believe I was in labor since this time my water didn't break (although I was 2 cm dilated for awhile by like 34 weeks). Again - everyone said I was high and since I felt so good this pregnancy - I thought maybe I'd go later. Around 34/35 weeks felt a drop. Again big change in mucous - gradual loss of mucous plug starting around 35/36 weeks. The night before and that morning I had weird sharp stabbing gas like pains and felt so nasueous I couldn't even talk. Went into labor end of my 37th week.

I had not only a bad back ache but body aches and a little bit of the cold sweats, almost like I was getting sick. Then I got the runs. Chat Icon Turns out I was 4-5-cm. (at 37 weeks).
