I am in the process of interviewing several. I placed an add on craigslist and in the Long Island Catholic newspaper.

My lurker friend (hi rebecca!) found hers through craigslist. I know several train moms that rave about their au pairs.

I used a referral service in Huntington. They give you a background check as well.

Im Rebecca, nrthshgrl's Lurker freind, Craigslist is really a good way to find someone but just be aware that if u put an ad up u need to be prepared for a zillion responses, my husband and I were inundated and interviewed a lot of people untill we found the right person. You can forum mail me if u have a any q's, I have had the same woman for almost two years and she is wonderful.

I was a nanny from my senior yr in HS through college - the family I worked for found me at the High School's job center office.
