For those that send DC to daycare - formula and diaper question!
Do you bring in an entire can of formula and when it is running low bring in another or do you send in just what the baby will eat for the day - like in the formula dispenser? I'm a little hesitant in having the teachers dispense the formula directly from the can.....
Do you bring in enough diapers for the week, etc or just for the day?

Re: For those that send DC to daycare - formula and diaper question!
I'm not sure about other daycares, but I'm required to bring premade bottles for her. I have an unopened can of formula and an extra bottle in her cubby though in case she seems like she wants more than what was already in her bottle.
As for diapers - I brought in an entire case so I don't have to bring diapers every week, they will let me know when they are running low. I'm also required to provide wipes and whatever diaper creams I use. Everything is labled with her name.

I bring in a a can of formula and have them use what they need. It's not rocket science. why are you reluctant to have them do this? If you question their ability to do this, maybe reconsider using this daycare!

When DD was drinking formula, I would bring the bottles in already prepared. As for diapers, I bring in a package at a time.

It was actually a nurse who suggested this to me.

Re: For those that send DC to daycare - formula and diaper question!
My Daycare requires all bottles be pre-made. I always bring in a extra bottle just in case. Diapers I always bring in a case at a time so that lasts for a while and they just let me know when it's low. Wipes I always leave a couple of packages in his cubby.

Re: For those that send DC to daycare - formula and diaper question!
Our daycare won't mix powdered formula. When DS was on formula, we kept an emergency RTF bottle on his shelf. Each day I would send in pre-made bottles for the day. Luckily, they never had to use the emergency bottle I left.
As for diapers, I usually send in a whole brick and they just let me know when it's running low.

DS's daycare required all bottles premade and I brought in 1 package of diapers and 1 of wipes and they'd let me know when they were running low.
I have to agree that if you're that concerned about them pouring formula from the can into the bottle that perhaps daycare isn't the best place for your child
ETS: I think my last paragraph may have come across a bit harsher than intended but I do believe that if you're concerned about things like this, which seem a bit trivial, you may have some serious issues with daycare. Perhaps the best thing you can do for yourself is to premake the bottles and send an extra in if you think DC may need more than the 'allotted' amount

Re: For those that send DC to daycare - formula and diaper question!
DD's daycare required all bottles be pre-made, so I would make them each day and bring them in. There was an extra can of RTF left at the daycare, just in case.
When she is low on diapers I bring in a big sleeve from one of the big boxes (I think it is like 90 diapers). That way I am not bringing in diapers each week.

Thank you for the edit! I'm just trying to get a sense of what everyone does. I do have some OCD issues that I will have to get over but unfortunately for us me staying home is not an option at this time.

Same here and we left 2 8 oz. cans of RTF at the daycare for "emergency". I don't think they ever had to use them.
I would imagine the reason for the premade bottles is that if they have 8 infants in the room, making bottles for them, when they could be eating 3 bottles while they are there would be time consuming and confusing for the staff. I would rather pre-make the bottles, knowing that DS is drinking the formula I brought instead of it getting mixed up with someone else's.

DD's daycare requires premade bottles. For diapers we brought in a huge sleeve of them and they let us know when they were running low.

Re: For those that send DC to daycare - formula and diaper question!
The daycare DD attends requires you bring in enough premade bottles each day and we brought in a case of diapers and 2 packages of wipes for her cubby. They write on her weekly reports each friday how many are left and we just refill them accordingly. Bringing them in daily would probably just increase the chances of forgetting them! ...JMO!
Don't feel intimidated to ask qhatever you want....it just sounded like you were questioning the daycare's capabilities. I don't think anyone meant to sound harsh

Re: For those that send DC to daycare - formula and diaper question!
At our first daycare I had to bring in premade bottles for the day. At out second, they used the same formula as us and I let them make the bottles. Both places required diapers for the week and would put down ont he day sheet when he needed more.
Every daycare is different, so ask what they expect.

Re: For those that send DC to daycare - formula and diaper question!
When DD was taking formula I sent her bottles pre-made only because my day care told me they would not boil the water first and since that was important to me, I took it upon myself to send the bottles ready-made.
I did give them a can of the formula for back up - the occasional bottle with tap water or bottled water wasn't a big deal to me but I didn't want it to be an every day occurrence.
As for diapers, don't create more work for yourself than is necessary! I send in an entire package of diapers (I buy the big value pack and usually give day care one insert) and send more when they ask for them - I think I send diapers about once a month more or less.
