For those w/a real Christmas tree...

DH and I chopped down our own tree a few weeks back and I can't believe that it doesn't smell like a tree! Are there some types of trees that don't smell? I'm going to have to buy some Christmas tree scented candles! Chat Icon

I always get a real tree and you can always smell the pine scent in the house. I have no clue why it does not have a scent.

Hmmm thats strange. It should have some kind of scent...when we bought ours a couple of weeks it did not start smelling until a couple of days after...now when you walk into our livingroom you feel like you're in a forest...the smell is pretty strong.

Definately strange! I know that our scent is not as dominate as it was 2 weeks ago, but you can still smell it when you come in the house

I've been doing real for a long time and some years its pretty strong and some years not so much.

This year is not so much.

It is true though, there are some "types" that don't have a strong odor. I just don't know the different types!

We are going to have to burn those candles too! Chat Icon

Our tree doesn't smell much either, but this is the first year we didn't get a Douglas Fir. We got a Blue something or other instead Chat Icon . I think I'm going back to a Douglas Fir next year.

Re: For those w/a real Christmas tree...

Our tree doesn't smell at all this year. We were having this conversation with my family tonight, everyone was saying their tree doesn't have that strong pine scent like it usuallly does.
