For those who failed their glucose tolerance test and put on a diet plan....
What does your diet consist of? What kind of things do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

I don't have Gestational Diabetes but I do know that the girls that do a lot of times see a dietician.
Did your OB recommend anyone?

I'll be taking a 3 hour test to confirm if I have DG or not. If I pass the 3 hour I still want to watch what I eat and I'm curious to know what kind of foods they tell you to stay away from and which foods you can eat. I'm just curious what the menu is like

Re: For those who failed their glucose tolerance test and put on a diet plan....
I had GD this was a somewhat typical day for me:
Breakfast - Oatmeal and hardboiled egg
mid morning snack - (if I remembered) string cheese, or a Weight Watchers Yogurt.
Lunch - Salad with grilled chicken. Or Chicken salad (that I would make) on Weight Watchers bread. Soup or a side salad.
afternoon snack - a bag of pretzel nuggets from the work vending machine and peanut butter - Jiff makes snack sized peanut butter cups.
Dinner - Chicken, or hamburger/turkey burger with no bun. Veggies... any kind really as I love veggies
Evening snack - I would have a handful of Rye flavored triskets with cheddar cheese before bed.
I'd also have sometimes as snacks, sugar free pudding or jello if I wanted something sweet. Fudgciles also make sugar free pops so that was a treat as well.

Re: For those who failed their glucose tolerance test and put on a diet plan....
This is what I am eating today:
Breakfast: 1 slice whole wheat toast with peanut butter, 1 string cheese.
Snack: Small cup Light & Fit yogurt, 3 whole wheat crackers, 1 string cheese.
Lunch: PBJ sandwich on whole wheat bread, 1 apple, raw carrots.
Snack: Blueberries, handful pretzels, cheese stick (I eat a lot of cheese now LOL)
Dinner: Not yet decided but will probably be a hambuger with no bun and some side dish of veggies and a starch.
Snack: Likely another cheese stick and a bit of crackers.

unfortunately, one thing you will learn is that not one single person is the same with GD. What works for me may NOT work for Kim, but what worked or Michelle MIGHT work for me....
breakfast: weight watchers whole wheat muffin with butter
snack: 2, 100 calorie pack snacks (or one piece of fruit)
lunch: today, i'll do some sliced american cheese and pretzel sticks (i think)
snack: 2, 100 calorie packs
dinner: not really sure for tonight. i really want pasta and meatballs...but not sure i'll be up for cooking later...
snack: weight watchers ice cream and string cheese
