For those who grow roses.... come in!
I am thinking about growing some roses.
Which one do well on LI? What do you do in the winter? Where do you find the best selection/quality, etc...?
My first thoughts are mister lincoln peace Gimini Rio samba

Knock out roses do very well here. I would suggest going to a good nursery and asking them what would work best with where you would like to plant them. Some do better in shade then others and some like sun, etc.

You cant go wrong with Jackson & Perkins. You can usually find them at local nurserys.

I have gotten various rose plants as gifts & they are not award winners but I find them easy to grow. No major problems. My soil is sandy & they are in partial sun.
